As organizations across all sectors navigate unprecedented digital disruption, the demand for professionals who can bridge technology, and business has never been greater. Recent research indicates that the vast majority of companies have adopted or plan to adopt a digital-first business strategy, yet many struggle to find talent with the right blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and change management capabilities. Organisations now thrive or wither depending on their ability to handle their information, its storage, security and management. Tools like AI open up vast possibilities for skilled IS professionals. Allying digital transformation ability to information skills give a skilled professional who skills are highly sought after.
"Digital transformation isn't just about implementing new technologies, it's about reimagining how organizations create value," says Head of School, Dr. Barry Feeney. "Our graduates will be equipped to lead this change, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic vision and a human-centered approach."
The programme emphasizes practical application through industry partnerships, live projects, and case studies drawn from real information systems and digital transformation initiatives. Students will work on authentic challenges, from redesigning customer journeys for financial services firms to implementing AI solutions in healthcare settings.
This programme has been designed in close consultation with industry leaders who are actively hiring for these roles. Every module reflects the actual skills and competencies that employers are seeking right now.
Work Placement
In third year, you will complete a work placement as part of your degree. This is an exciting opportunity to gain real industry experience, apply what you have learned in class, and build valuable professional connections.
Here is how the process works:
- September: Employers contact the Placement Coordinator with details of available roles.
- Autumn: You will submit your CVs and job applications with companies offering placements. Selected students are then invited for interviews.
- Job offers: Successful candidates receive their placement offer through the Placement Coordinator. Employer will finalise your placement contract and start date.
- Mid-January: Placements begin and run through to the end of August.
- May/June: The Placement Coordinator will visit or meet with you and your supervisor to check on your progress.
- September: You will return to college for your final year of study.
Placement Duration: 6–8 months (mid-January up to the end of August, Year 3 Semester 6)
Typical roles: Business Analyst, Enterprise Architect, Digital Product Manager, Business Intelligence Analyst, Systems Analyst, Change Management Specialist, Digital Innovation Manager, Automation Specialist.

Study Abroad Opportunities
