Events & Activities

The Learning, Teaching and Assessment (LTA) team, working in collaboration with LTA Affiliates, teams, schools and faculties, across the University runs a series of events each year. These include the events listed below about which you can read more on their specific pages.

LTA Showcase (January)

This one day event takes place annually in January in Grangegorman. It includes presentations, workshops and conversations among staff on matters related to learning, teaching and assessment.

LTA Summer Showcase (June)

This one day event takes place annually in June in Tallaght. It includes presentations, workshops and conversations among staff on matters related to learning, teaching and assessment.

Welcome Back Event (September)

This half-day event takes place annually in the first week of September in Grangegorman. The event is used to launch the new academic year, highlight the opportunities available to staff to engage in academic development throughout the year, and enable staff to discuss their learning, teaching and assessment practice with the LTA Team and with each other.

Academic Book Club

The TU Dublin Academic Book Club meets on several occasions throughout the academic year, with each meeting focussing on a book related to learning, teaching and assessment practice.

Learnathon

The LTA Learnathon takes place in Blanchardstown in May each year. It is hybrid of a hackathon and a practical teaching & learning event where you can participate, share ideas, potentially come up with solutions or just discuss what’s happening in your practice. The LTA Learnathon (gently) is a competitive event with prizes for the winning team.
