Green-Campus Open-Call: Fund your Green-Campus idea!
TU Dublin Sustainability - Societal Engagement, Decarbonisation and Sustainability Education - are collaborating to offer micro-grant opportunities with a funding pot of up to €20,000 to support TU Dublin's Green-Campus programme, Climate Action Roadmap implementation and Strategic Objectives around sustainability.
The new Green-Campus Open Call 2025 can help bring ideas to life by making micro-grants available to selected projects and activities submitted in the form below.
Green-Campus encourages a partnership approach to environmental education and management and TU Dublin's Green-Campus Open Call 2025 encourages applications from across all 5 TU Dublin locations for the following:
- Activities and events to mobilise young people and the Green-Campus Network to accelerate local level action.
- Project proposals that can be implemented using a living lab approach.

Application Form
The proposed projects should involve student engagement and show alignment with one of the Climate Action Roadmap (CAR) objectives as well as An Taisce's Green-Campus themes (Air Quality; Biodiversity; Energy; Green ICT; Greening Laboratories; Litter & Waste; Transport & Travel; and Water). TU Dublin are to renew our Green Flag award in 2026 under the major themes of Biodiversity and Transport and Travel, maintaining Litter and Waste and Energy - the previously awarded themes - as minor themes.
Conditions of funding:
- Applicants must submit the form to apply for the funding.
- The proposed projects must begin in the Academic Year 2025-2026 and run until June 2026 at the latest.
- TU Dublin policies and procedures are to be adhered to throughout (e.g. Procurement, GDPR, IP etc.).
- The funding awarded to each successful applicant must be spent, or committed though raised Purchase Orders, by 12 December 2025 or 06 March 2026.
- Successful projects must provide an end of project report and provide details of their project for an Impact Story for publication on the TU Dublin website and media channels.
Proposal Evaluation Criteria (50 marks)
- The overall proposed plan of work for the project including budget outline (20 marks).
- Societal Engagement: The plan to engage students and/or the wider TU Dublin community and/or external groups with the proposed project (10 marks).
- Sustainability Education: The link to students learning, e.g., coursework, or project work, or links to SDGs etc. (10 marks).
- Decarbonisation - Climate Action Roadmap: The expected impact of the proposed work on furthering TU Dublin’s Green-Campus efforts in supporting TU Dublin's Climate Action Roadmap and Strategic Intent (10 marks).
All projects will be assessed for feasibility with Campus & Estates, prior to evaluation.
Important Dates:
- Launch: 24 October.
- Information Session: Tuesday 4 November from 13.00-13.30. Join here.
- Proposal submissions due: Monday 17 November at 12.00 noon.
- Successful submissions announced: Thursday 20 November.
- Projects start: Academic Year 2025-2026 Monies committed (i.e. POs raised): 12 December 2025 or 06 March 2026.
- Projects to be completed: 01 June 2026.
- End of project report and details for Impact Story: 8 June 2026.
