Pastry Sous Chef - Glovers Alley by Andy McFadden

Aoife Comerford is a 25-year-old Pastry Sous Chef at the Michelin-starred Glovers Alley by Andy McFadden. With a strong foundation in both pastry technique and culinary advocacy, she has already distinguished herself as the runner-up in the 2025 Irish Pâtisserie Championship, a 2023 Taste the Atlantic Chef Ambassador, and a youth member of the Chef Network Advisory Council.

Aoife is a graduate of BA (hons) in Culinary Arts from Technological University Dublin. During the course of her studies she was awarded the 1916 Path Bursary and the Gallagher’s Boxty House Scholarship for Most Promising Student in Gastronomy - recognising both her talent and commitment to her craft.

Passionate about making the industry more accessible and inclusive, Aoife actively advocates for increased access to education and the removal of barriers for those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. She is a proud supporter of Irish food producers and is committed to celebrating local ingredients - both in her pastry work and in her wider role within the food industry.

Beyond the kitchen, Aoife has spoken at Food on the Edge, Beyond the Pale, RTÉ, and Ireland AM, contributing to important conversations around access to education, the pressures of working as a chef, and the realities of building a sustainable career in hospitality. She regularly shares advice for young chefs entering the industry, drawing on her own experiences to encourage resilience, creativity, and inclusivity.
