Product management determines what gets built, why, and whether it creates value for customers and for the business. It is one of the most in-demand disciplines in the global technology sector, and one of the least formally developed.

This multi award-winning Postgraduate Diploma in Product Management, co-developed with the Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet and delivered by TU Dublin, stands alone as the only programme of its kind in Ireland and among very few of its kind anywhere in the world. That distinction did not happen by accident. The programme was conceived by the technology sector and designed by TU Dublin: every module reflects the critical skills that Ireland's leading digital companies identified as essential to their growth. And through the Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet, it is also a guarantee of value. Company sponsors benefit from co-funding support that makes the programme financially accessible, while the applied, work-based learning model means organisations see a return on their investment from day one. Industry partnership is not a badge; it is a commitment to value.

For detailed information on the programme, alumni insights, and programme brochure, go to https://www.digitalskillnet.ie/productmanagement/

Designed for working professionals directly involved in, or adjacent to, the product management function, this is not a programme you study and then apply. The application is built in. Every module is tested against live opportunities and challenges, inside the organisations where participants already work.

The programme is delivered over two consecutive days per month from October to June, a format designed around the reality of busy professional lives. The programme is facilitated by an international faculty of world-renowned scholars, thought leaders, bestselling authors, and leading-edge practitioners: people who don't just know the field, but have shaped it.

Cohort diversity is a feature, not a footnote. Learning alongside peers from a broad range of companies sharpens thinking and broadens perspective. Our 400-strong alumni network extends that value well beyond the programme itself, serving as a continuous source of expertise and connection for product managers and the professionals who work alongside them.

To get the most from this programme, you need to be working in a role where you can apply what you are learning in real time. This programme is designed for:

  • Practising product managers with their sights set on Senior PM, Head of Product, or CPO, and for those who want to lead with more confidence, credibility, and strategic impact at whatever level they operate.
  • Business analysts, solution designers, and delivery professionals looking to make a purposeful move into product management.
  • Engineers and designers who are closest to the product and ready to take ownership of the broader problem space as builder product managers.
  • Business architects and strategists bridging long-term vision and on-the-ground delivery.
  • Founders and entrepreneurs who want to bring rigour and structure to how they build and scale their products leveraging the lean start-up methodology.
  • Senior leaders and executives navigating one of three defining moments in a product organisation's maturity: building a product function for the first time, transitioning from a project-based model to a product-led one, or scaling an existing function to match the ambition of the business.

With an Induction in September, modules are run on two consecutive days per month, usually October through to June, concluding with a company based capstone project, submitted in September, to bring real impact to their organisation. “The application of programme learning to live challenges in the workplace delivered immediate benefits for me and my employer. Among the many concepts that I was introduced to, business modelling and portfolio mapping were applied with great results.”

Mark Hill, Vice President of Product, Strategy and Innovation at Kitman Labs

"I have used the roadmap learning - the product management discipline in my part of the organisation is biased towards day-to-day business and client management rather than innovation and research so the Masters has been helpful."

Leonard Sutton, Global Head AML Product at JPMorganChase

"With the goal to create new and differentiated product offerings, each module has direct and practical applicability. The programme learning continues to deliver benefits to me, the product team, my employer and most importantly - our customers."

Sean Finlay, Head of Product Management at AMCS Group

"The postgraduate diploma in Product Management is an extremely relevant qualification for those working in the product space or those interested in transitioning into it. It is a well-rounded and highly valuable learning experience. I became a better Product Manager which helped me to get buy in for roadmaps."

Ria Browne, Lead Technology Product Manager at Brightflag

"The skills I gained from the diploma have significantly enhanced my effectiveness as a product manager. This learning has translated into tangible benefits for my company. I am now more confident in proposing new revenue-driving initiatives and have become a mentor to less experienced team members, guiding them towards success."

Diana Casey, Product Manager ESW.

“The course gave me the skills to effectively balance product management effort between discovery, design and delivery, as well as influencing my colleagues to achieve the right outcomes in an inclusive and collaborative way.”

Aoife McGivern, Manager, Product Management, Workday

“The balance between theory and practice was excellent. It enabled me to bring my product management knowledge and capabilities to a new level, with significant benefits for my employer.”

Qian Zhang, Senior Product Manager at Amazon

“The lecturers include some of the world’s leading authorities in product management. Now I have the knowledge and the frameworks to back up whatever approach I am recommending, whereas before I might have just gone with gut instinct.”

Aidan Kenny, Director of Product Management at Datalex

“Completing the Masters in Product Management was a turning point in the development of my critical thinking and strategic management skills.”

Macdara Butler, Senior Product Manager at IBM
