Campus Tour

Bolton Street

Our Bolton Street campus has been a centre for technological education for over 100 years. This three-storey neoclassical building was designed by CJ McCarthy and was built in 1908. It has since been extended in 1961 and again in 1987. Plaster representations of artisan figures decorate the hallway and corridors of this ornate building. The figures are casts from John Henry Foley's models for figures at the base of the Albert Memorial on Leinster Lawn. Despite substantial extensions, the essential historic character of the building has been maintained and the building forms an important part of the surrounding streetscape.

There are many breakout spaces around the building providing students with multiple different locations to quietly study, work in groups or socialise. As well as this the campus has a dedicated students union space and social space on the ground floor close to the main entrance, outside spaces, coffee dock and restaurant and library. This area is truly the heart of the campus and you will often find students relaxing or working in this area from when the campus opens in the morning to when it closes at night.

Linen Hall

Linen Hall is situated on the opposite side of Bolton Street to the main campus and offers an additional college experience. A centre of practical education Linen Hall is full of bustling workshops where students of many different trades and disciplines can practice their skills as they put into practice their learning.

Linen hall has its own coffee dock and is also the site of the Student Health centre and gym for the Bolton Street campus.

Tallaght

Tallaght Campus is situated on the city's southwest side and has over 5,000 students. The campus is located on an 18-hectare site between Old Blessington Road, Belgard Road and Greenhills Road in Tallaght, Dublin 24.

The campus is fully equipped with lecture theatres comprising the latest audio-visual equipment and learning aids, science, electronic and computer labs, state-of-the-art culinary kitchens, a restaurant, library, canteen, coffee shop, Students' Union, automated banking facilities and a soccer pitch. The campus also offers free parking for cars and bikes.

Technical Development Centre (TDC)

The Technical development centre or TDC is a facility dedicated to the development of our Energy and Environmental programmes on campus. Critical aspects of the TDC include a software lab area for software and hardware design implementation.

The TDC has seen significant investment in all areas including the EV lab area. The EV lab is dedicated to the development of modern Electric Vehicle technologies, this includes battery management technology (lithium cells) as well as fuel cell technology (hydrogen). The EV lab promotes student projects based around the development of lightweight vehicle chassis/control systems and instrumentation. Current student projects have focused on an Electric Motorcycle and Electric Motor Car.
