Image/Asset Portal

Ok, so you have a lot of images/assets related to TU Dublin that you would like to share. And you will be adding images/assets over time.
How will I go about this?
What is the best solution?

Q: Would the T4 CMS content type 'Image Carousel' be the solution?
A: It is a good solution, but only if you have a few images.

However
It is not a good solution if you will have a lot of images and also if you will have other asset types that you want to share.

Could a Portal could be the solution?
Lets talk about an image portal created for you using Canto (Digital Asset Management System)

What is an image/asset portal?

• An image/asset portal is a standalone website that allows you to organise your assets ( images/videos/sound files/pdfs) into a searchable and visually engaging website.
• It generates its own unique URL which can be added to your websection on the TU Dublin website.
• Your assets will appear in visually engaging and searchable albums.
• You can offer the user the option to download images and crop them to predeterminded sizes. 
• You can tag your images/assets to make the search options more effective.
• You can set expiry dates to your assets to keep within GDPR guidelines, so that assets will not be available after a certain date.
• Expiry dates can be set to actual portal(s), so you can control when you want it online.
• Note: An image/asset portal is only suitable as an option that will grow with content uploads. 

What types of Portal(s) are available?

Internal (Password Protected)
Our staff portal  is only accessible to TU Dublin Staff and is a valuable source of content.

 Public Portal(s) Examples

The Sports Portal is administered by the Sports Department in TU Dublin and they will expand its content range over time. Uploading new content is extremely easy using just an 'upload url' directly to an album.
 

Graduation Image Portal
The Graduation Image Portal is administered by the Communication & Marketing section in TU Dublin. Uploading new content is extremely easy using just an 'upload url' directly to an album. Expiry dates can be set to individual or all assets. Also, expiry dates can be set to the actual portal.
