Current Role, Activities and Interests
David O'Mahony is a Lecturer in Mechatronics on the Blanchardstown Campus. With 30 years in a technical support role in TU Dublin Tallaght Campus and Trinity College Dublin. Since 2021 David Lectures on the Mechatronics programmes in the areas of workshop practices, 3D printing, Fluid Power Systems, Enterprise Resource Management, and projects. He has lectured since 2016 on embedded systems, software Engineering, CAD/CAM, Advanced CAD, Instrumentation on the part time programmes. David is currently researching the use of Augmented Reality to aid learning in an Engineering task-based context for Neurodiverse students with executive functioning deficit.
Industrial Background/Experience
David has worked in industry as a Sales/project Engineer for a number of Pump Distributors and also in pneumatics and Hydraulics before joining IT Tallaght in 1993. Providing pump and automation solutions to many industries throughout Ireland.
