You can reset your password using the self-service password reset tool.

Your new password must be at least 14 characters and include a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters. You cannot reuse previous passwords or include your name or personal details. Commonly used words, sports teams, or brand names are also rejected.

ℹ️  Note: If you are unable to reset your password through the self-service tool, contact IT Support via email.

I am locked out of my account. What should I do?
Account lockouts cannot be resolved through self-service and must be handled by IT Support. Please contact Technology Services directly:

Eduroam and Campus Wi-Fi

The most common cause of Eduroam connection problems is a recently changed password. After any password change, you must reconfigure the Eduroam connection — it does not update automatically.

Steps to fix Eduroam:

  • Go to your device's Wi-Fi settings and forget (remove) the saved Eduroam network.
  • Download and re-run the Eduroam configuration tool.
  • When prompted, enter your TU Dublin email address and current password.
  • Reconnect to Eduroam.

If you continue to have problems after following the above steps, please visit Technology Services in person on campus.

How do I set up Eduroam on a new device?
To configure Eduroam on any new device — Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android — download and run the official Eduroam configuration tool.

Select TU Dublin as your institution and follow the on-screen instructions. Use your TU Dublin email address and password when prompted.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To add or set up the Microsoft Authenticator app for your TU Dublin account:

  • Go to Microsoft 365 and sign in with your TU Dublin credentials.
  • Click the profile icon at the top right of the page.
  • Select 'View account', then go to 'Security info'.
  • Click 'Add method' and choose 'Authenticator app'.
  • Follow the on-screen steps to scan the QR code with your phone.

How do I generate a new QR code for the authenticator app?
You can generate a new QR code for the authenticator app through your account security settings:

  • Visit Microsoft 365 and sign in.
  • Click the profile icon (top right) and select 'View account'.
  • Select 'Security info', then click 'Add method' and choose 'Authenticator app'.
  • A new QR code will be generated for you to scan.

I have lost my phone or cannot access my authenticator. What should I do?
If you cannot access your MFA device, you will need to contact IT Support to recover access to your account. Self-service recovery is not available without a registered backup method.

Microsoft 365 Account Access
If you cannot sign in, first try the password reset tool.

After resetting, wait a few minutes and try signing in again. If you are still unable to sign in, check that your account has not been locked — contact IT Support if needed.

I cannot sign in to Microsoft 365 on a new device. What should I do?
When signing in to Microsoft 365 on a new device, you may be prompted to enrol in device management. To avoid this:

  • On the device management prompt, deselect or decline the option to enrol.
  • If you do not see the device management prompt, try signing in to Microsoft Edge with your TU Dublin credentials first.
  • Once signed in to Edge, deselect the device management option when it appears.
  • After this, you should be able to sign in to Microsoft 365 normally.

Microsoft Teams is showing incorrect permissions or not loading properly. How do I fix this?

Resetting the Teams app cache usually resolves permission and loading issues:

  • Click Start → Settings → Apps → Installed Apps.
  • Find Microsoft Teams in the list, click the three-dot menu (ellipsis) and select 'Advanced options'.
  • Scroll down and click the 'Reset' button.
  • Relaunch Teams — it will re-download the correct settings and permissions.

For further guidance on clearing the Teams cache is available from Microsoft.

Software Installation
To request a licence for SPSS, NVivo, Minitab, or ChemDraw, complete a Software Request form on the TU Dublin Access & Request Forms page.
